MARABI™

LEGAL · EFFECTIVE 7 OCTOBER 2026

Marabi™ Privacy Policy

The short version: Marabi has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything the app learns about your taste stays on your devices and in your own iCloud account. The developer never receives it.

Marabi is published by JD Applications (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app stores, where it lives and which services it talks to.

01

What the app stores, and where

Taste profile

Why: to rank the next track for you.

Where: on the device. Not synced to other devices or to us.

Liked tracks, banned tracks and banned artists

Why: to honour your thumbs.

Where: on the device.

Play history

Track keys and how much of each you heard. Why: repeat suppression and implicit learning.

Where: on the device. You can clear it in Settings → Data.

Saved stations and your last session

Names and seed artists. Why: so you can rebuild stations.

Where: on the device and in your private iCloud key-value store, so your other devices see the same list.

Apple Music library summary

A once-a-day summary of your most-played and recently added library artists. Why: to give a brand-new station a head start.

Where: derived on the device and folded into the taste profile. The library itself is never copied or uploaded.

Settings

Sync to Flow, screensaver and other preferences. Why: app behaviour.

Where: on the device.

None of this is sent to us. We operate no server for Marabi and have no way to read your data.

02

Services the app talks to

To find and play music, Marabi makes requests directly from your device to the following services. Each request contains only what is needed to look up music — artist names, song titles, ISRC codes or catalogue identifiers — never your name, email, contacts or location.

Apple Music (MusicKit)

Catalogue search, artwork and playback through your Apple Music subscription. Governed by Apple’s privacy policy and your Apple Account.

Deezer API

Public audio features (tempo, energy and similar) for tracks, used to build the musical fingerprint.

MusicBrainz

Public release metadata, such as the year a recording was made.

Last.fm

Public “similar artists” lists used to widen a station’s pool. Marabi does not scrobble and does not use your Last.fm account.

iCloud

Apple’s key-value store, used only for your saved stations, under your own Apple Account.

Marabi AI (the prompt feature and DJ insights) runs on your device using Apple’s on-device models where the device supports them. Prompts are not sent to us.

03

Local network

Marabi on iPhone and Apple TV discover each other over your Wi-Fi using Bonjour and Multipeer Connectivity, so one can mirror the other’s station. The connection is direct between your own devices, never leaves your network, and is used only while both apps are open.

Shebeen mode shares a compact summary of a guest’s taste profile with the host Apple TV for the duration of the visit. It is discarded when the guest’s phone disconnects and is never uploaded.

04

What we do not do

  • No analytics, crash-reporting or telemetry SDKs.

  • No advertising, no advertising identifiers, no tracking across apps or websites.

  • No accounts, sign-ups or passwords.

  • No sale or sharing of personal data with anyone.

05

Permissions the app asks for

Media & Apple Music

Required to search the catalogue and play music.

Local Network

Only if you use Marabi on Apple TV alongside the iPhone app.

06

Children, choices & changes

Children

Marabi is a general-audience music app and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Your choices

You can clear play history, banned tracks and liked tracks in Settings → Data, delete saved stations in the app, and remove everything by deleting the app (and Marabi’s iCloud data under Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
